This sawbuck pack saddle is made in the Outfitters Supply shop and designed for a lifetime of hard use. The Tehema tree fits most average horses and mules. We handpick from the very best leather available, Hermann Oak Old World Harness leather. The breast collar and the breeching are rolled to prevent soring or chafing.

The Tehema (Tehama) tree is made from the finest materials available. Side bars are kiln dried pine which are hand-shaped and fine sanded. Forks are made of solid oak. Each tree is sealed with high quality Benjamin Moore paint and Minwax polyurethane varnish.

The hardware is solid brass, chrome-plated, with the exception of the rigging rings and breeching dees, which are nickel-plated steel for strength. The quarter straps have roller buckles for easy adjustment.

Standard sawbuck double rigging. Sold ready to pack with four latigos and a 100% mohair double pack cinch. Specify even cinch size 24/26" - 30/32".

The cinches are 100% wool, double rigged, with woven-in double rings for pannier tie-downs. We recommend a 26/28" for average 1,000 pound pack animals; it is always better to have a slightly shorter cinch with a pack saddle than with a riding saddle.
